Prohibited & Restricted Items
Last updated: 2026-09-15
We cannot purchase or ship the items below. Asking us to buy them risks seizure of your entire parcel — and we cannot compensate for a seizure caused by a prohibited item.
1. Absolutely prohibited
- Counterfeit goods — replicas, "inspired" copies, unauthorised branded goods, fake receipts or authenticity cards.
- Weapons — firearms, ammunition, parts, knives with locking blades, batons, tasers, pepper spray, crossbows.
- Drugs and controlled substances — narcotics, psychotropics, precursor chemicals, drug paraphernalia.
- Live animals and plants, animal parts, ivory, endangered species products.
- Currency, counterfeit money, negotiable instruments, bearer bonds, gold bullion.
- Human remains, organs, bodily fluids.
- Child sexual abuse material, and any material that sexualises minors.
- Hazardous materials — explosives, flammables, compressed gases, corrosives, oxidisers, toxic substances, magnets above carrier limits.
- Radioactive material, and devices that emit ionising radiation.
- Personal data — stolen databases, account credentials, SIM farms, card-skimming devices.
2. Restricted — needs prior approval and usually a special line
| Category | Condition |
|---|---|
| Batteries | pure lithium batteries and power banks: some lines only; must be declared |
| Devices with built-in batteries | usually acceptable on battery-approved lines |
| Liquids, gels, cosmetics, perfume | some lines; volume limits apply |
| Powders, food, supplements | destination-dependent, often refused |
| Medicines | prescription only, and frequently prohibited |
| Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes | destination-dependent; often prohibited |
| Magnets, laser pointers, drones | carrier-specific restrictions |
| Printed matter, religious or political material | destination-dependent |
| Branded goods | proof of purchase may be required by customs |
| High-value electronics, jewellery | insurance strongly advised; declare the real value |
3. Destination-specific rules
Every country has its own list. Notable examples: e-cigarettes are banned in many jurisdictions; food and plant material are heavily restricted in Australia, New Zealand, the USA and the EU; laser pointers are prohibited in Australia; ivory is prohibited almost everywhere.
You are the importer of record. It is your responsibility to check the rules of the destination country before ordering. If you are unsure, email us and we will tell you what we know before you pay.
4. What happens if a prohibited item is found
- We stop the order and email you. If we have not yet purchased, we cancel and refund.
- If a seller ships a prohibited item to our warehouse, we quarantine it and ask how you want to proceed. We cannot forward it.
- If a parcel is seized because a prohibited item was included, no compensation is payable and freight is not refunded.
